ABILENE, Texas — On Wednesday, United Supermarkets, Market Street and Kellogg’s joined forces to donate $25,000 to Love & Care Ministries.
As part of the Nourishing Neighbors initiative and the Feed the Love campaign, this donation will go to help Love & Care Ministries in their mission to help the economically disadvantaged and homeless in the Abilene community. Funds will directly assist in the CarePack for Kids program that provides weekend food for area children at risk of food insecurity.
“We are blessed to be able to help our community through this amazing partnership with Kellogg’s,” said Mark Yowell, RVP for the United Family. “The work that Love & Care Ministries does for this community is so important and we hope these funds will support their new initiative helping children who are at risk of being hungry.”
Love & Care Ministries started from humble beginnings in Abilene and has now grown into a huge force for good. The organization now has a food pantry, clothing closet, kitchen to serve meals and a place of worship and reflection.
“We value our partnership with the United Family and initiatives like this are a key part of our aspiration towards Kellogg Company’s vision for a good and just world, where people are not just fed but fulfilled,” said Kathy McDonald, …..with Kellogg’s. “We are so proud to contribute to the important work of Love & Care Ministries as we all collectively fight against hunger.”
