United Supermarkets presents the Salvation Army of Wichita Falls with $20,000 in hunger relief grant funds
WICHITA FALLS, Texas — On Tuesday, United Supermarkets held a check presentation ceremony with the Salvation Army of Wichita Falls to provide $20,000 in hunger relief grant funding.
These funds will go directly to help the Salvation Army of Wichita Falls with hunger programs that feed countless people across the community. During the last year, the organization served more than 35,000 meals, which surpassed their total from the previous year.
“We are so thrilled we could step in to help the Salvation Army continue combating hunger in our community,” said Allen Smith, regional vice president for The United Family. “This organization does so much to help our neighbors who are in need, and it’s humbling to be in a position to support that mission.”
While these funds will help with hunger initiatives, that’s not all that the Salvation Army of Wichita Falls does for the community. The organization also provides shelters, adult rehabilitation centers, financial assistance, clothing, youth programs, spiritual care and more for those in need across the region.
