United Supermarkets & Mrs Baird’s Bread honor six Lubbock area teachers as
Teachers on the Rise for December and January
LUBBOCK, Texas — The United Family and Mrs Baird’s Bread announced the December and January winners of the thirteenth annual Teachers On The Rise program. Since the launch of the program in August, nominations have poured in from students and families across the South Plains, highlighting how teachers go above and beyond the call of duty, deserving special recognition.
Congratulations to our winners from December: Keith Creager of Cathelene Thomas Elementary (Slaton ISD), Casey Wilkins of Talkington School for Young Women Leaders (Lubbock ISD), and Merribeth Gregory of Levelland High School.
Congratulations to our winners from January: Kathryn Hall of Centennial Elementary School (Lubbock ISD), Donna Hamblin of Talkington School for Young Women Leaders (Lubbock ISD), and Sheree Case of Idalou High School (Idalou ISD).

With only one semester remaining, we encourage students to keep nominating their favorite teachers every month!”
“We know great things go on in area classrooms year-round,” said Shane Sumrow, the program’s director. “That’s why we accept nominations through the end of school. So now is a great time for students and families to let us know how educators go above and beyond to make an impact.”
Winning teachers receive a $100 United Supermarkets gift card, lunch for two to the Texas Tech Club, and a gift box full of Mrs Baird’s goodies. The students who nominate a winning teacher also receive a $50 American Express gift card. Teachers On The Rise is supported by Atmos Energy, the year-end banquet sponsor.
