Mondelez & United Supermarkets team up to donate $20,000 to non-profit organizations
LUBBOCK, Texas — Mondelez and United Supermarkets joined forces in December to donate $20,000 to local non-profits to aid hunger initiatives. Both Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest and the South Plains Food Bank received donations of $10,000.
Throughout the year, United Supermarkets has the opportunity to work with vendor partners like Mondelez, the company behind Oreo, Triscuit, and other household brands, to make donations like these possible through sales initiatives across its stores.
As part of the latest partnership, United Supermarkets and Mondelez were able to support the South Plains Food Bank during their annual U Can Share fundraiser. The $10,000 will help provide approximately 30,000 meals for people across the region.
The two companies also presented Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest with a check for $10,000. These funds will go to help with food related expenses for families utilizing the services of RMHC.
“We are thrilled to once again partner with our friends at Mondelez to help support two amazing organizations who do so much good for our Lubbock community,” said Mark Yowell, regional vice president for The United Family. “We are grateful to align ourselves with companies like Mondelez that are also committed to making a difference in the community. We know these funds will go a long way to support the missions of the South Plains Food Bank and the Ronald McDonald House.”
