ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — On Wednesday, Albertsons Market and Market Street launched their annual program, Turkey Bucks, across New Mexico.
Turkey Bucks is a program designed to help raise money for those dealing with food insecurity as the holiday season approaches. Just as it has been in the past, the need is high this year.
From now until November 24, guests will have the opportunity to make a donation at the register when they are finished shopping. It is as easy as ever to help neighbors this holiday season.
“We are so excited to once again kick off Turkey Bucks this holiday season,” said Travis Chaney, regional vice president for the United Family. “It means the world to us to be in a position to help families who are dealing with food insecurity during this time of the year. We encourage our guests to donate what they can.”
The donations will go to several food banks and other charitable organizations across the region. This includes The Food Depot, St. James Episcopal, Store House NM, El Ranchito NM and Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico. The money raised in a particular area will stay in that area.
