MIDLAND, Texas, and ODESSA, Texas — Starting in late January, local favorite Rocket Fuel BBQ sauce will make its debut in United Supermarkets and Market Street locations across the Permian Basin.
Since 1986, Michael’s Charcoal Grill in Midland has provided delicious BBQ, burgers and sandwiches to the people of West Texas. Michael Shapira, the founder of the Grill, also became known for his now-famous BBQ sauce. Although initially developed to coat ribs, Rocket Fuel BBQ sauce goes with almost any meat.
Like anyone who makes food, Michael’s dream of spreading his culinary creation to as many people as possible has always been a goal. Moving the sauce onto the shelves of United Supermarkets and Market Street is just another step towards that dream.
“Since Michael first starting mixing this sauce, it was always his dream to take things to the next level,” said Alex King, with Michael’s Charcoal Grill. “Over the last two to three years, his dream has become reality! We appreciate the whole team with United who helped make this such an easy process. We look forward to moving even further with such great supporter of local brands!”
For the team at United Supermarkets and Market Street, supporting local brands like Rocket Fuel BBQ sauce has always been part of the mission.

For guests in the area, Rocket Full BBQ sauce will be out for free sampling at the Midland Market Street from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28.
