LBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albertsons Market and Market Street stores across the state are once again prepared, as retail food stores licensed by USDA and located in the State of New Mexico, to accept SNAP EBT benefits in exchange for hot foods and foods intended to be consumed on the premises. The temporary expansion of eligible items was again provided due to the impact of wildfires in the state and will be in effect through September 30, 2022.
With this temporary expansion of benefits, guests using SNAP EBT funds will be able to purchase hot, ready to eat items from stores’ hot food bars. The types of items typically available at the hot food bars include chicken tenders, vegetables, macaroni and cheese, fruit cup and a variety of other foods.
“We look forward to serving our guests as these increased benefits will allow them to get food for themselves and their families when they need it most,” said Travis Chaney, regional vice president for Albertsons Market. “As New Mexico communities continue to deal with the impact of wildfires, Albertsons Market and The United Family stand ready to help our neighbors and communities however we can.”
This year, Albertsons Market has been working to help New Mexico communities as wildfires not only impact people in those communities, but also their own Albertsons team members. From the donation of funds and food, to water and labor, Albertson Market continues to be involved in helping New Mexico communities respond to the impact of the wildfires.
