ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — On Wednesday, Albertsons Markets locations across the state of New Mexico launched a fundraising campaign to benefit local Salvation Army chapters. This campaign will last from December 1 to December 12.
During the campaign, guests of Albertsons Market and Market Street in the state will have an opportunity to donate to the Salvation Army at the register. Guests can add any donation amount on to their grocery bill at checkout. The money raised during the campaign will stay in the area in which it was donated. So, guests will truly be helping their neighbors.
“This is such a good opportunity for our guests to help us support an organization that does so much good for our communities,” said Travis Chaney, regional vice president for The United Family. “Every year during the holiday season, the need in our communities always becomes more visible. We know the Salvation Army is out there trying to meet that need. We hope our guests will consider supporting their efforts.”
From humble beginnings, the Salvation Army has grown into a global force for good. The organization assists 30 million Americans on an annual basis. Through homeless shelters, food pantries, job training and more, the Salvation Army caters to millions who need some extra help. Donating during the holiday season is vital to helping keep their mission alive.
